Grade 4 Lesson 9

Worship God Alone

Loving God means that we follow him and worship him alone. The truth is that we can love God because he made us for himself. As we saw in Lesson 8, the saints are the best examples of how to follow Jesus and be faithful to him. God wants our hearts and our prayers. The more we love God, the more we will seek to hear his voice, so as to follow him. Jesus reminds us: “Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened” (Mt 7:7–8). We are all searching for God.

Now suppose your small group has been hired by the Church to investigate who God is and where he can be found. Together, answer the following questions. Be prepared to share your report with the class.

1. Where can God be found?

2. What evidence is there for his existence?

3. How does he act?

4. How can people get in touch with him?
