Have you ever done something wrong, even when you knew it was not the right thing to do? Or maybe you did not do something good that you knew you should have done? Everyone makes mistakes. These mistakes—big or small—can hurt others and our friendship with God.
When we feel bad about doing wrong or about not doing what we should have done, that feeling is called sorrow. Sorrow helps us grow closer to God. This chapter is about feeling sorry for our sins, why that matters, and how the Mystery of Penance (also called Confession) helps us receive God’s love and forgiveness.
