Marriage is one of the most important parts of society, but it did not just happen. It came from God. He made marriage so we could love him and each other better. When we use marriage as God intended, it is an amazing gift of love and holiness. Saint Paul said, “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her” (Eph 5:25). Christ loved the Church by dying for her. A husband and wife imitate Christ’s love for the Church when they share and sacrifice for each other. Married couples must also show God to their children.
