We have learned how mercy enables us to have compassion on the poor. Mercy also helps us to forgive those who hurt us. Now, we will see how mercy helps us serve others as Jesus did. Jesus “came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Mt 20:28). Following Jesus means that we put others before ourselves.
