We have talked about some special ways to follow God, but holiness is not just for priests and nuns. Everyone, including you, can be a saint! But how? We should attend and participate in the Divine Liturgy and receive the Eucharist often. We also must live like saints outside of the Divine Liturgy. When others see us act, they should see Jesus!
As we have seen throughout this book, saints are found in every vocation. A saint is a person who has faith in God and lives a heroically good life by imitating Jesus. The saints are like those who have made it into a “Hall of Fame” for holy people. A vocation is the state in life God has given us, and our vocations show us how we are called to be saints. Some saints were popes, monks, priests, deacons, religious brothers, religious sisters, married, or single. They did wonderful things because they allowed God to work through them. In this lesson, we will learn about how lay people (those not in religious life) can live out their vocations.
