The Word of God

What would happen if you tried to build a model kit or a toy set without looking at the instruction manual? It would not go well: pieces would not fit right, the paint would look all wrong, and you might even break it. Then it would not get built at all!

We need an instruction manual to live good lives, too. The Bible, also known as the Word of God, is like an instructional manual God gave us to help us get to Heaven. The men who wrote the Bible, like Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, were inspired by God, who is the true author of Scripture. In the Bible, God gives us good advice because he is a loving Father who wants to help us. The prophet Isaiah told us that God’s word is like rain that falls on a flower. It helps our faith take root and grow (Isa 55:10-11). In this lesson, we are going to learn about the Word of God.
