Anytime you join a club, charitable organization, or sports team, there are certain things you have to do: fill out registration forms, pay membership fees, and even introduce yourself to the group. With some groups, there is even more: you have to go through an entrance ceremony with specific rules, words, and actions. All of these things are called ceremonies of initiation, and they are meant to help people understand what it means to be in that group: what its philosophy, history, and mission are. The Church has ceremonies of initiation too, called the Mysteries of Initiation. In this lesson, we are going to learn what it takes to be “initiated” into the Maronite Catholic Faith.
